Royal jelly is a gelatinous substance produced by honeybees to feed the queen bee and their young.

From ancient times Royal Jelly has been considered a dietary supplement as well as to treat a variety of ailments and diseases. It was taken orally and used topically.

Royal Jelly is comprised of water, carbs, protein, and fats. Science is still not sure why Royal Jelly has the benefits is has but they can state that its efficacy is based on its unique proteins and fatty acids. These, include 9 glycoproteins, collectively known as major royal jelly proteins with two fatty acids, trans-10 -Hydroxy-2-decenoic acid and 10 -Hydroxydecanoic acids. It also contains trace minerals. Some of the vitamins typically present in Royal Jelly include Thiamine (B1), Pantothenic acid (B5,) Riboflavin (B2) Pyridoxine acid (B6), Niacin (B3), Folic acid (B9), Inositol (B8) and Biotin (B7). However nutrient composition varies. However, nutrient composition varies considerably between sources based on its sources.

 One can see that it’s packed with a punch and inevitable capable of offering the human body heaps nutrition and support.

Topically used it has major benefits for the skin including rebuilding collagen and keeping the skin hydrated. It’s also proven to be beneficial in protecting the skin from the harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

Taken orally it has been known to offer a range of health benefits such as easing pre-menstrual syndrome symptoms and supporting in reproduction. It is also proven beneficial for women suffering with menopausal symptoms.  There is also some evidence that Royal Jelly may have benefits for people with type two diabetes by reducing the glucose levels in the blood.

 There are many bee derived products on the market today, it can become rather confusing as to which one is best. My advice is to check the potency of each bee product before you buy so that the product you purchase is high in potency and locally (Australian) made.
