Why a unique flavour.
There is a trade and art component to honey. The trade competency of a beekeeper includes everything in the care and processing that delivers a good honey including its health components. The art produces the flavour. Over the last twenty years the honey now known as Kanguri has been developed and had a reaction from people – “this is different, where can I buy this honey?” The Kanguri beekeeper has demonstrated an ability to find balanced vegetation for healthy bees and produce the special flavour which makes this great artisan honey.
Why Kanguri is raw healthy honey.
Raw honey comes straight from the hive. It still has some pollen and propolis in it. These contain the antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal material that is singularly or collectively found by bees in unique combinations from where the hive is placed.
Kanguri honey also is rich in vitamins and minerals – all collected by the Ligurian bees for the health of their hives. For humans honey is also useful in cleaning and wound healing, relieving coughs, treating diarrhea (source Medical News Today articles Jan 22:2024; April 17:2019).
Kanguri raw honey is unlike regular honey because these health elements are not destroyed, damaged or filtered out as they are in processed honey. Only ingredients from the Kanguri beehives on Kangaroo Island are in this pure honey.
Fixing clarity in Kanguri raw honey
Raw honey may crystalize after a few months. It is still safe to eat and has the same taste. To make the honey runny again:
- Boil a pot of water and remove it from the heat.
- Place the closed container in the hot water
- Remove the container of honey after a few minutes. If it is still solid or crystalized repeat the process.
Raw honey treated in this way will remain runny for about three months.
